Kawaski's Roger Hayden did not finish the race. On the restart, his bike smoked heavily and he dropped back into the field. Later, he turned laps faster than the leader but crashed. He could do nothing but watch as Hacking won the race.

Hayden led the first lap, but Barnes (who last won a Supersport race at Daytona in 1989) made his way into the lead. Barnes ran strong, but Hayden resumed the point on lap eight after a turn one pass. He managed to extend it out to nearly 3 seconds at the flag. It was Hayden's first Supersport win since Barber. look at that smile! aint he so cute! lol Josh crashed out of that race! that really sux but thank god he's okay now! and i turned my head and didnt get to see him. but i dont hink i could have taken the pain to see him crash out like he did!
